!!Murderous Mel? Celebrity Scandals And the ever-escalating Mel Gibson drama continues, this time adding TMZ's own Harvey Levin to the sordid mix. !!!!

The latest from Oksana Grigerieva's camp is that Mel plotted to kidnap TMZ's Managing Editor Levin, drag him to the desert and break his kneecaps, leaving him to die.

TMZ reports that earlier this week, Oksana's rep, Steve Jaffe, told Levin of the alleged scheme, saying Gibson was still furious at TMZ for breaking the anti-Semitic rant story following the actor's 2006 DUI arrest. Jaffe said Oksana told him Mel had said he wanted the "blood of Jews" on his hands and that he was having Levin tailed.

TMZ and Levin, however, have found several holes in the story and are not taking it seriously, mostly due to the fact that authorities never contacted Levin to warn him, despite Oksana's claim she relayed the plot to police.

UPDATE: Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore told TMZ, "We categorically deny that any such information was ever given to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
