This is creek is normally your typical calm shallow creek,but as you can see this day was not a normal day for this usually calm little creek.The area of the creek that I am filming this at is located at the corner of SE Shields & SE 25th,Southern side of Oklahoma City,Oklahoma.The creek also runs even further south from were this is at for a few miles I believe,but it had rained so hard for so long in that area that the area got water logged and the water turned from normal flowing water into raging rapids and the creek swelled very fast!All that water was trying to go into a drain pipe that was about 7 or 8 feet round & about 100 yards long that went under the intersection and eventually emptied out into the Oklahoma River.I have NEVER seen a CREEK have so much water so fast not to mention a creek having raging water/rapids!!!You can clearly hear the water not to mention see how crazy fast it was moving. This could is really a serious situation and could have easily gone bad, just like it did just 2 days before this was filmed! Sad to say these creek and its raging waters DID claim the life of a 13y/o boy on Tuesday 7-6-10 R.I.P young soul. So very Tragic and Crazy all in one!! I hope everyone will enjoy my pictures and video of Mother Nature being a bit of a nuisance, but also realize this already took a life and if one is careless it could turn from innocent to deadly as fast as the creek flooded and became dangerous!
